Best Amazon Prime Day 2020 TV deals: Save $1,000 on 65-inch Sony OLED, $400 on 75-inch Samsung

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide on everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 is here, and will run through to Wednesday, Oct.14. If you’re looking to score a great price on a new TV, the two-day shopping event includes big discounts on big screens from big brands such as Sony and Samsung, as well as lesser-known brands including Element and Westinghouse. Don’t forget the Roku deals either. For now, however, the best deals on TVs aren’t at Amazon at all, but instead at Best BuyWalmart, Target and Sam’s Club. That may change as Prime Day continues but for now, you don’t need to be a Prime member — or shop at Amazon — to get the best TV deals.

We’ll keep updating this story with the latest Prime Day deals in this category as more deals become available.

Best Prime Day TV deals so far

Update, Tuesday, Oct. 13: As of midday Tuesday, new blockbuster deals on TVs are few and far between. Amazon has some decent prices on its Fire TV models, but so far the best bargains are at Walmart and Target (for super-cheap Roku TVs) or at both Amazon and Best Buy, where you’ll find some excellent prices on higher-end models, including a Sony OLED.

JVC

If you want to grab a TV for under $100, JVC’s LT-32MAW205 might be just the ticket. After all, this 32-inch HD TV (it has a 720p resolution) has Roku built-in, so when you factor in what you’d spend on a Roku media player, it’s like you’re getting the TV for $70 or so. This set

Best Prime Day 2020 headphone deals: Save $100 on Bose QuietComfort 35 II, $50 on AirPods Pro and more

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide on everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 is officially here and runs through Wednesday, Oct. 14. Between Amazon’s hefty savings and similar sales from Walmart and Best Buy, now is a great time to be on the hunt for any type of headphones, from wireless ear buds to epic over-the-ear noise cancelling headsets with comfy ear cups..

So far, we’re seeing deep discounts on Sony headphones that we’ve traditionally seen around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sony has lowered prices on last year’s WF-1000XM3, as well as the newer WF-SP800N, which is water-resistant and features noise cancellation. The entry-level WF-XB700 Extra Bass is at the lowest price we’ve ever seen, $78. We’re also seeing Apple headphones return to a low price of $199 (even as a new AirPods Studio over-ear headphone remains rumored).

We expect to see more amazing headphone discounts throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, so if you’re in the market for a specific type of headphone, say ones with Bluetooth connectivity, noise cancellation or true wireless earbuds, keep checking back.

Note that you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to get these exclusive deals.

New iPhones were unveiled Tuesday, and they will come without wired headphones in the box for the first time ever. In the meantime, Apple’s current top of the line noise-canceling true wireless headphones are now back to selling at $199. That’s still pricey, but it’s $50 off what you’ll pay at the Apple Store, and $20 less than their usual price at Amazon.

Best Buy Early Black Friday Deals Are Live Now: Cheap Games, 4K TVs, Headsets, And More

The wait is over–Amazon Prime Day 2020 is officially live, but you don’t have to be a Prime subscriber or even shop at Amazon to get amazing deals today. That’s because this has effectively become a precursor to Black Friday, and competing retailers are getting in on the action with steep discounts on games and tech this week. Best Buy is one of those retailers running a big anti-Prime Day sale of its own, and it made the biggest move we’ve ever seen to compete with Amazon by announcing its first Black Friday deals will go live this week.

Select deals from Best Buy’s Black Friday ad have gone live today, and they feature fantastic discounts on laptops, tablets, and 4K smart TVs along with Arcade1Up cabinets. Notably, you can buy a Samsung 70-inch 4K smart TV for $530, down from its usual $750–just in time for next-gen gaming. There’s not too much in the way of video game deals–the better prices are at Amazon today–but you can grab The Last of Us Part II for just $40.

The early Black Friday deals are live October 13 and 14, overlapping neatly with Prime Day, but this won’t be the last you see of Best Buy’s Black Friday sale. Best Buy plans to release its full Black Friday ad and offer even more deals later this month.

The retailer is also offering a Black Friday price guarantee this year. If you buy anything during the sale that gets an even better deal before November 28, you’ll be reimbursed the difference. The holiday return period for products has also been extended–anything you buy starting October 13 can be returned for a refund through January 16, 2021.
