Ft. Bend Co. DA: ‘Too premature’ to call vote errors as intentional

On Tuesday morning, polling places got off to a rocky start after reported errors became common at multiple locations.

ABC13 received numerous calls and messages from viewers in the county reporting that they weren’t able to vote. Shortly before 9:15 a.m., a precinct judge at a Missouri City polling place said the issue had been resolved and people were able to begin voting.

SkyEye was over the area in Sugar Land, where people were outside City Hall and Smart Financial Centre.

Still, outside of the event center, Fort Bend County Judge KP George said that for at least one hour there was an error in their program, delaying voting.

“Definitely apologize for that inconvenience, and as I understand, the machines are back,” George said. “The Smart Financial where we are right now, it is up and running. We are back online, and I hope there won’t be any distractions for voting. Once again… I just wanted to say sorry for what happened and we will be doing an investigation. We will be holding those responsible for it accountable. What happened is not OK, not acceptable in Fort Bend County.”

George later released this full statement:

I am extremely disappointed with the technical glitches that riddled Fort Bend County Election machines this morning. Remember, people have died for our right to vote. Stay in line or come back at a convenient time – the future of our country depends on us. You have three weeks to vote early. Remember, we have also extended the hours on the last three days

CRA Website Error Puts CRB Applications on Hold

It seems like the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Thanksgiving surprise was not that good. Canadians are flocking on to Twitter and other social media sites to discuss the error message on the CRA website. Today, the CRA opened the application window for the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB). Millions of Canadians logged in only to be disappointed with a message.

The message read, “You cannot apply for the Canada Recovery Benefit as you have applied for all eligible periods. The next periods become available every second Monday.”

And today being Thanksgiving, the CRA contact centre is closed. So, I guess you will have to wait until Tuesday to apply for the CRB.

The CRA website error on CRB application

The CRA had less than a month to transition millions of Canadians from the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) to CRB. Also, it had to implement new sickness and caregiving benefits. To pile up the work, the CRA was waiting for the legislation on the new benefits to be passed till the end of September. This left the CRA with just two weeks to implement three benefits. To add to the trouble, the CRA website had two incidents of cyber attacks in August, which encouraged the agency to add a layer of security.

All the above hurdles made the transition from CERB to CRB difficult. This is not the first time there has been an error in benefit payments. When the government launched the CERB in April, both the CRA and Service Canada were processing the claims. This led to some Canadian getting double benefit payments in April. The CRA rectified the error by adjusting the June payments for those who received double payments.

The CRA will give CRB benefits

Just like before, the CRA will rectify the CRB error when it

Missouri blames database error on website for COVID-19 spike

A “database extract error” resulted in an incorrect inflation of the number of reported COVID-19 cases in Missouri going back over several days, Missouri health officials said Sunday.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said in a news release that it is in the process of migrating all COVID-19 testing and case data into one new consolidated system.

The state launched a new version of its coronavirus dashboard on Sept. 28 to integrate pandemic response across public health, economic, employment and social impact indicators.

Missouri incorrectly reported Saturday on its coronavirus website more than 5,000 new COVID-19 cases, more than double the previous single-day record.

The agency said Sunday it is working urgently to resolve the issue and will update its website with the correct numbers once that is done. It said the problems with the data were limited to cumulative reporting on its Show Me Strong Covid-19 Public Health Dashboard.

The revised coronavirus numbers for Missouri are pending.

“When this issue was initially raised Saturday morning, the dashboard team began working through the data to identify the problem and are working through the weekend to correct the underlying issue,” said Dr. Randall Williams, the agency’s director. “Missourians should feel confident that we appreciate their feedback and continue to adapt our processes to ensure effective and accountable reporting to our citizens.”

CDC updates webpage on how covid-19 is spread after Website error last month

The update follows an embarrassing incident last month when the agency removed a draft that had not gone through proper review and was posted in error. The draft’s wording included a reference to aerosols — tiny droplets that can stay in the air, potentially traveling a significant distance. Officials said the draft was removed because they feared the language could be misinterpreted as suggesting that airborne transmission is the main way the virus spreads.

That is not the case. The main drivers of viral spread are larger respiratory droplets that are emitted when someone coughs, sneezes, sings, talks, or breathes, the CDC said.

“There is evidence that under certain conditions, people with COVID-19 seem to have infected others who were more than six feet away,” the updated Web page states. “These transmissions occurred within enclosed spaces that had inadequate ventilation. Sometimes the infected person was breathing heavily, for example while singing or exercising. the updated Web page states.”

“Under these circumstances,” the Web page says, “scientists believe that the amount of infectious smaller droplet and particles produced by the people with COVID-19 became concentrated enough to spread the virus to other people. The people who were infected were in the same space during the same time or shortly after the person with COVID-19 had left.”

This is a developing story. It will be updated.

How To Fix “Runtime Error 424 ‘Object Required'”

One of the most frequent questions we hear from people hoping to enter the IT trade is, “What programming languages do I must know?” Obviously it is a complicated question, and the answer will rely upon what discipline the questioner goes into. In at the moment’s article we are going to discuss about the A+ programming language and all its vital features. There are different applications in use by programmers as we speak, and you may choose from these different applications in line with your degree of programming knowledge.

Lots of people don’t perceive how advanced programming is. Some individuals doing excel proper now do not notice that what they are doing, on some levels, is definitely programming. Testing for small programs is simple and doesn’t take a tonne of time.

Packages could be so simple as a set of directions stored in a textual content file for performing some mundane job, like making backups of all the pc recordsdata in a folder, or as complicated as one thing like a word processor, or the operating system that your computer makes use of which can require hundreds of thousands of strains of code.

With its enormous capabilities, Python is also a favorite among net developers to construct varied varieties of web functions. I am very confused in selecting programming language between Java & PHP. Due to this, it’s a programming language each IT worker ought to know.

A computer can solely be instructed through what programmers call “the code”. When the Japanese creator Yukihiro Matsumoto developed Ruby in 1995 from a blend of different languages akin to Perl and Smalltalk, he by no means thought Ruby will eventually become probably the most Object Oriented Programming language.…
